Perhaps the last section needs a bit of explanation. Imagine a solid block of ice, say three feet long, one and a half feet wide, and maybe 8 inches thick. Put this ice block on an incline and with a knife score runs -- little ditches, if you will -- down its face. Now if you pour a drink into such a run at the top, it will arrive at the bottom properly chilled. All you need is to suck it down :-)
